Iran suffer eighth consecutive loss in 2024 VNL

TEHRAN – Iran suffered their eighth consecutive loss in the 2024 Volleyball Nations League (VNL) Saturday morning.
Team Melli lost to Turkey 3-1 (22-25, 25-23, 25-23, 27-25) in Fukuoka, Japan.
Iran, headed by interim coach Peyman Akbari, moved down to 17th place in the ranking table.
Iran will travel to Manila, the Philippines to meet the U.S., the Netherlands, France and Germany in Week 3 from June 19 to 23.
The VNL Preliminary Phase features three competition weeks per gender, with each of the 16 teams playing 12 matches. The seven best-ranked national teams in the Preliminary Phase will join hosts Poland for the Finals, which will be held in Lodz from June 27 to 30.
